Dear Aabcor,

An opportunity has arisen for me to assist in sharpening your awareness of a very dedicated AABCOR employee (Kristin M). Having met with Kristin, my father’s case worker, it is necessary to share some of my observations. Kristin, in my opinion, deserves special recognition for her dedication the healthcare profession. She has applied unique skills while establishing a trusting relationship with our family necessary to assess both the care and needs of my father. She has established an atmosphere for open communication in a warm and confident manner. She does phone checks often to ensure that dad is receiving very good care and to check on any changes in his condition.

Please be assured that Ms. Kristin does uphold Aabcor’s goals. She has been instrumental in improving the quality of dad’s life and my mental state as well. Her ability to relate to people is one of the finest qualities a caseworker can possess.

This communication is being shared proudly. If additional information is necessary, please contact me.

Appreciatively,

Lorena, Waukegan IL.

To Aabcor,

On behalf of my mother, Melba, and our whole family we wish to thank Aabcor. We first heard of Aabcor in early February 2007, through Alexian Rehab Center where Mom had received therapy after some brain surgery. I called the Aabcor office, talked to Aimee A, and was immediately assigned to Rachel H.

Rachel visited Mom and me at Mom’s home and filled out the necessary paperwork. We were both impressed with her efficiency and demeanor while asking us some difficult questions.

With her help and the help of Kayla, our present case manager, we were able to provide Mom with a lifeline (which was used after Mom had fallen), Meals (which were pretty good), and a caregiver (who was attentive and kind to Mom).

We are not only impressed with what Aabcor has offered Mom, but we are also very impressed with the fact we have always been able to talk to someone immediately.

Yesterday we called the office with some questions regarding the Department of Human Services and “spend down” ( a term very foreign to us). We were lucky to speak to Judi who was again very efficient and very knowledgeable.

Thank you for such a well run program.

Sincerely,

Carol, Bartlett IL.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderful organization you head. Julie A, was my husband’s (Don) case worker and from the first visit I thought of her as a friend, she was great and explained everything to me. The help she gave us was everything I could ask for. I could never of kept my husband home without this help as I am 76 years old and not in good health myself.

Then after a massive stroke, with her help in getting more hours, I was able to bring him home from a nursing home where he was for about 3 weeks. With this help and hospice aid my doctor let me bring him home, he was home for 3 months even though he couldn’t talk to me or recognize us. It meant a lot to all of us to have him home. I was with him the morning he passed away holding his hand. I will never forget this time and thanks to your organization I was able to do this. My heartfelt thanks and God Bless You.

Mary Lou, Wife of Donald Sr. and Family

P.S. If there is anyone I can write to, to help keep this program going please let me know

This note is long overdue. I have wanted to let you know that your employee, Julie, is terrific! She is extremely caring, considerate and compassionate. She also is always checking to see if there is anything else that we need, or that she can do for us. I believe Amy is her supervisor. Amy is caring, like Julie. You are very lucky to have so many exceptional employees in your business. We thank God, that we have such a great program to help Dave. We wouldn’t know what we would do without you and your employees.

Thank you! May the Lord bless you and keep you and your family healthy, happy and safe, always.

Sincerely,

Lauren and David, Joliet IL.

It is with enormous gratitude that I am writing this letter in regards to the services that through your Agency, Ms. Juliann E, has provided to my husband Roger, who suffered a massive stroke this year.

Ms. Juliann’s compassion, professionalism, respect, dedication, and vast knowledge of your services has made a difference in our lives. Her initial promptness and follow-up in our complex situation has been a blessing.

We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do to help people like us, and congratulations to Ms. Juliann.

Best wishes,

Roger and Rosa, Chicago IL.

I experienced the most delightful case management assessment visit for my mom on Thursday. Letherese P, is an excellent case manager. She has a very calming approach and is clearly knowledgeable about the needs, psychologically, emotionally and cognitively, of persons with brain injury.

I am a licensed social worker with 30 years of experience, mostly in management and administration. I have directed case management programs for persons with substance abuse, developmental disabilities and mental illness, and I also conduct conformance surveys in behavioral health on behalf of a major international accreditation organization. I regret that as I trained several young professionals and provided consultation to numerous organization, I put more emphasis on case management process and the required technical skills than I did on the importance of care and compassion. LeTherese has shown me the error of my ways. God bless her and I expect she will have a very bright future in our field.

Sincerely,

Cynthia, Chicago IL.

Hope all is well with you. Cannot tell you how much the services of Aabcor have lightened our load here. Christian is having a bumpy adjustment to his new living arrangement, but I don’t believe he could be getting any better care.

I am attaching one of the letters I sent and am open to any other ideas you might have about other ways I might help.

God Bless all of you and a million thanks for your ideas, resources and help!

Sincerely,

Mary, Schaumburg IL.
