Brain Injury Program Overview

The Illinois Department of Human Services-Office of Rehabilitation Services and Aabcor have worked together to give families the assistance their loved one needs.

The Brain Injury Program is a home service program designed to support adults and children who have survived a traumatic brain injury or have acquired a brain injury resulting from strokes, infection, motor vehicle accidents or other related causes.

Medical diagnosis of acquired brain injury including: traumatic brain injury, infection (encephalitis, meningitis), anoxia, stroke, aneurysm, electrical injury, malignant neoplasm, and toxic encephalopathy.

There is no age criterion associated with the Brain Injury Program. Persons of any age may be served, if otherwise eligible.
